INNES, F/L Bruce Evans (J16925) - Distinguished Flying Cross - No.402 Squadron
Award effective 3 September 1945 as per London Gazette 37265, dated 14 September 1945
& AFRO 1672/45 dated 2 November 1945.

Flight Lieutenant Innes has completed two tours of operational duty. He has attacked numerous ground targets and has destroyed three enemy aircraft and damaged others. He has also shown outstanding keenness and determination in engaging the enemy which have set a fine example to all who have flown with him.

No 55 OTU - 7 October 1941, Unsworth, England
Overseas continuously until May 1946
18 November 1941 - 402 Squadron (Hurricanes)
4 May 1941 - Spitfire Vbs
17 May 1942 - Shot down dogfighting with 3 FW190's
(receiving a broken leg in the process)
Fished out of The Channel by an airsea rescue
20 December 1942 - Rejoined 402 Squadron
9 Feb. 1944 - Staff pilot in the UK
2 Dec. 1944 to 1 July 1945 - with 402 Sq. [Spit XIV]
1 July 1945 to 15 July 1945 - with 412 Squadron
8 Sept. 1945 to 28 Feb. 1946 - CO of 411 Sq.
